Introducing the 2025
HALF MARATHON COURSE
Start on the scenic campus of the California State University Channel Islands before weaving through the breathtaking Santa Monica Mountains. As the miles unfold, you’ll reach the Pacific Coast Highway, where endless ocean views greet you at the shoreline. From there, head south toward Thornhill Broome Beach, with the waves at your side and the mountains at your back. Your journey ends with an unforgettable finish just north of Mugu Rock — a stunning final stretch that captures the very spirit of #TheGoodLife in Motion.
Event
INFORMATION
All Half Marathon participants must pick up their race packet at the Race Expo (excepting those that have paid for race day packet pick-up).
The Race Expo and Packet Pick-Up is scheduled for Saturday, November 15th from 9:30am – 3:00pm in El Dorado Park on the campus of CSU, Channel Islands.
Aid stations will be located at the following locations (all will provide water, portable restrooms, and basic first aid):
Miles 1.5, 3, 5, 7, 8.5, 10, & 11.5
Electrolytes (Flavor TBD) will be provided at the aid stations at the following locations:
Miles 3, 7, & 10
Energy Gel (Flavors TBD) at miles: 5 & 8
Note: For safety reasons due to the nature of the PCH, all aid stations in the second half of the course are located ocean-side. Outbound runners will have to cross inbound runners’ traffic to reach the aid station. Outbound runners are asked to yield to inbound runners when possible. This affects the stations at miles 8.5, 10 and 11.5.
Gear check is available to all half marathon participants on race day. Participants must place items in a clear plastic bag to be provided at the event. Gear Check can be dropped off adjacent to the Start Line in El Dorado Park on the campus of CSU Channel Islands. All gear must be dropped off before 6:40am in order for it to be transported to the Finish Line. Participants can pick up their Gear in the Finish Festival prior to boarding a shuttle back to CSU Channel Islands.
Participants are expected to be able to complete the Half Marathon course in 4 hours, or holding a pace of 18 minutes-per-mile.
The time count begins after the start of the last wave of runners. Runners who are unable to maintain an 18-minute pace, although encouraged to complete the race, will be asked to remain out of previously-closed traffic lanes and will be asked to move to the side and obey regular traffic laws. The Highway will be reopened to traffic on a “rolling basis” determined by that pace, as per our agreement with Caltrans and CHP.
Overall Award Medals will be available for the top 3 female, male and non-binary winners.
Age Division awards are given to the top 3 female, male and non-binary finishers in the following age divisions:
Under 20, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, 80+
Awards must be picked up on-site at the Awards table after the race in the Finish Festival.
