Saturday, November 13th, 2021:

7:30 am – Take your place in the start line chute

8:00 am – 5K Start Time




Start/Finish Line Location


The Start / Finish Line is located at Zuma Beach, one of the most popular beaches in Los Angeles County, 30050 W. Pacific Coast Hwy.
Malibu, CA (map & directions).




Packet Pick-Up


We're going to allow a limited number of 5K packet pickups on Friday between 3:00 - 7:00 PM. Unless you've selected this option during registration, you are required to pick up your race packet Saturday, November 13th, 2021 between 5:00 am -7:00 am. If you didn't select the Friday pick-up option during registration don't worry. Log on to RunSignUp, go to your Profile > Upcoming Events > Manage Registration > Click 'Questions' on the menu item located on the top of Race page.




Raceday Timeline


4:30 am – Zuma Beach Parking Opens to public ($5 CASH ONLY all day parking pass) 5:00 am – 5K Packet Pick-up opens. Expect heavy traffic, lines and delays and plan accordingly. We recommend arriving between 4:30 - 6:30 am. Remember, 30 mins of extra sleep is NOT worth arriving late. 7:30 am – Zuma Beach Parking Closes (Arrive at the entrance gate before this time) 7:45 am – 5Kers Take Place in line 8:00 am – 5K Start Time 11:00 am – Half Marathon Packet Pick-up & Beach Expo Opens 6:30 pm – Beach Expo Closes




Course Map & Details


The 5K course starts and ends in world famous Zuma Beach offering participants a beautiful out-and-back route in one of the most distinctive landmarks in Southern California and a cinematic backdrop for numerous films and TV commercials. From the starting line, the course proceeds along the Zuma Beach Access Rd and then turns left on Pacific Coast Highway (PCH) offering a prime view of the pristine Malibu beach. After turning along the entire lenght of ZUma Beach, you'll turn back inside the parking lot, just south of Trancas Canyon, to the finish line. With no hills, this course is perfect for anyone looking to attempt a personal record — or just looking for a gorgeous, well-organized event.
There will be 1 aid station:

  • Water station will be located at miles: 1/2
  • Electrolyte drink provided by Gatorade Endurance at the 1/2
  • Basic First AID will be available at the all water stations
  • First Aid will be available at the Finish




Course Closing Time


All participants are expected to be able to complete their race in 1 hour. The time count begins after the start of the last wave of runners. The Highway will be reopened to traffic on a “rolling basis” determined by that pace. The Finish Line will stay open for runners and spectators.
Aid stations, official finishing times, medals, and post-race refreshments will only be available to runners who complete their race in 1 hour or less..




Cancellation Policy


All entry fees are non-refundable. This policy applies to all entrants and is in effect whether you are injured, have an unexpected family/business emergency, have a medical emergency, etc. If the course has to be changed or the race cancelled due to an act of nature, there are no refunds or rollovers. There are NO exceptions. If we are forced to cancel the event due to new developments on the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, you will be given the option to switch to a virtual race or a 100% deferment credit to be applied to a future event. If you decide to switch to a virtual event, we will provide a credit for any difference in pricing you might have paid that can be used for another virtual entry (get family or friends to tag along) or towards our future events.




Can I Push my Child in a Jog Stroller?


Strollers are allowed. For the safety of everyone, we do kindly ask for all participants with strollers / joggers to place themselves at the end of the corral start.




DEFERRED ENTRIES


If you deferred your entry, please keep an eye out for an email from us the last week of February with instructions on how to redeem your deferred entry or roll it over to 2022. If you don't receive an email from us, first check your spam folder and, if you still cannot find it, please get in touch with us at info@runmalibu.com.
